Swimmers need to be able to swim over 200m and have advanced knowledge of diving and stroke technique to join this class.
This level includes focus on competitive swimming such as starts and turns, lane discipline, advanced swimming techniques, stamina and overall swimming speed to allow swimmers to look at moving onto swim clubs or simply keep fit as a hobby.
The class also focuses on some elements of life saving and personal survival skills.
The class is further divided into advanced 1, 2 and 3 depending on the swimmers level of swimming knowledge and ability.
Typical awards at this level include: Water skills 6, 200m-3000m distance badges, personal survival badges 1 and 2, bronze, silver, gold and honour challenge awards, stage 8-10 competitive swimming awards.
